Zoombezi Bay

This fun water park is located right next to the Columbus Zoo and aquarium and spans almost 23 acres of land. At the waterpark, you will find 17 waterslides, a lazy river, a wave pool, private cabanas for rental, and pretty much anything you would expect to find at a waterpark. You can make a full day out of just enjoying the water park in Powell. You could also add a trip to the neighboring zoo to your list. Special fun summertime events happen on select Fridays. Zoombezi Bay plays a family-friendly film that everybody can watch while enjoying the wave pool.

Highbanks Metro Park

This outdoor recreational area was originally named after it’s 100-foot-high shale rock bluff. There are numerous ravines around the park and it spans across 1200 acres with 10 different trails ranging in hiking difficulty. The trails range from simple grass and gravel walking trails to pavement and each one traverses a different area of the park. The park also gives access to the Olentangy River, a great place to canoe or kayak. It is one of the most beautiful outdoor spots in central Ohio.

Safari Golf Club

The Safari Golf Club is also a neighbor to the Columbus Zoo and as such is a neighbor to the water park. The golf course offers a fun and challenging game for brand new players and old experts alike. You can even get to know some new friends and locals by joining a league or you can just play a quick round by yourself or with some friends. The golf club also offers lessons to sharpen your golfing skills. The Safari Golf Club has the Safari Golf Club Grill, fun and great family-friendly venue to have dinner. The grill serves up burgers, hotdogs, wraps, and specialty sandwiches.

Local Roots Restaurant

The Local Roots Restaurant is just as the name implies, a local restaurant. This restaurant takes pride in serving customers food with locally sourced ingredients. This restaurant serves a natural Amish chicken, Ohio pork, Ohio bison, and Ohio all-natural hormone free beef. The owner of this restaurant owns a farm not far from the downtown area of Powell which also provides the restaurant with all of its fresh produce.

Powell Antique Liberty Mall

The antique mall in Powell was founded in 1968 by Harold Freiheit who has always had a passion for antiques. This mall is home to pretty much any type of antique you can imagine and specializes in providing the rarest and odd of antiques around.
